Sheikh Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Khalifa Al Qassar, former Professor of Comparative Jurisprudence at the Faculty of Shari’a and Islamic Studies at Kuwait University, holds a PhD in Comparative Jurisprudence from the Faculty of Shari’a and Law at Al Azhar University – Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, obtained in 1997. He served as a faculty member at the Faculty of Shari’a and Islamic Studies at Kuwait University from 1997 to 2017, and held the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Shari’a and Islamic Studies at Kuwait University from 2001 to 2005.

He is a member of the Fatwa and Shari’a Supervisory Boards in several Islamic institutions and banks inside and outside the State of Kuwait. He is also a lecturer in Islamic financial transactions and has authored numerous scholarly papers and studies in Islamic jurisprudence and contemporary financial transactions.
